Beauty is an expression of something internal, whether it’s your mood, a hope for the day, or your self-image. Some days, you may want to express how you are feeling by wearing sweatpants & a high pony. Other days, you might want to bring the power vibe to an important meeting with a suit and chic hair. Sometimes, you might bring out the glam to show confidence.
Speaking from my personal experience and that of my clients, longer and fuller hair can make your face appear thinner and elongated. If you have a longer face already, then you might enjoy a long bob or an asymmetrical bob, if you are feeling like you want to stand out. I personally think that no matter what job you have or if you work from home or at an office, it’s so important to do something every day to make yourself look presentable. It boosts your confidence, and every time you look in the mirror that day, you smile knowing you look good for yourself and that’s worth the extra time it took. It could be as simple as parting your hair nicely and brushing it back into a low ponytail, or taking the time to curl your hair for the day. Whatever your favorite beauty tricks, it’s good to know how to add a little confidence to your day before you walk out the door.

As a makeup professional, I have so many products to choose from, but it’s important to have your go-to’s that don’t break the bank and still deliver quality results. Some of my favorites include:
Makeup Revolution Fondation & Concealers, which are super affordable and are lightweight for a smooth finish.
Wander Beauty Mascara
Butter Bronzer
NYX Professional Shimmer Shadows
NYX Beige Lip Liner is something I wear almost every day. It’s neutral and bronzy, and that’s what I like.
It’s important to find what you like for your skin tone and hair color. To spice up that daytime look, I might add some matte red Fenty lipstick by Rihanna & some KISS wispy eyelashes from Walgreens, and BOOM! I’m ready to go out!
Hair can be a hassle whether you are getting ready for work, heading to happy hour with friends, or getting all dressed up for a fancy dinner or wedding. I am going to link some super simple and cute ideas you can use for that sort of thing when you don’t have a lot of time or you can’t get into the salon for an updo. One thing I want to stress to all extension and non-extension wearers about hair care is to BRUSH YOUR HAIR! It seriously brings the shine soooo much. If you don’t already have one, get a detangling brush and brush you hair multiple times throughout the day.
If you don’t already do this, wait until you see the difference! I know it seems simple, but you would be so surprised at how many people don’t do this. Curly hair is an exception, of course. I would not recommend brushing curly hair nearly as much.
Here’s the hairbrush I recommend to most of my clients:
Just remember, wearing makeup, fixing your hair, and taking time to dress nicely should always be for yourself first and foremost. These all play into your self-expression. Even if that day you aren’t feeling like your best self, doing something extra for your appearance will give you a small bit of gratification that day when maybe nothing seems to have gone right. Personally, I am always overdressed and glammed up because I love it and how it makes me feel. I do not do that for anyone else. When I don’t take the time to do it, because — let’s be honest — there’s just not enough time in the day sometimes, I notice I don’t feel as great. But that is just me speaking from my own experience. You have to find what works for you. Maybe it is JUST mascara, or you JUST brush your hair a few extra times that day. But you did something to enhance yourself. Be PROUD. You are BEAUTIFUL!
